Psalm 126: Sowing In Tears
When the LORD returned Jerusalem from her captivity (ERV,KJV, NASB, YLT, OJB), we were dazed (AMP), like those who dream (NLT, NET, ESV, OJB). Then our mouths were filled with laughter and our tongues with exuberant songs of joy (OJB, NLT, KJV, YLT, NIV see NASB, NET, MSG)! And it was said among the peoples, “The LORD has done awesome (NLT) things for them!”
The LORD has done awesome things for us, and of this (OJB) we are glad.
Return us from our captivity, O LORD, (and restore our fortunes (OJB, AMP)) like raging streams (OJB) in the southern desert (CEV, NET). Those who sow in tears shall reap with exuberant songs of joy! The one who goes forth wailing, (yet) carrying seed, shall surely (KJV, YLT, OJB) return with exuberant songs of joy, bearing the sheaves of harvest (OJB).
