"Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight." "Proverbs 30:3 I have not learned wisdom, nor have I knowledge of the Holy One." "Proverbs 3:32 for the devious person is an abomination to the LORD, but the upright are in his confidence." "Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is his delight." "Proverbs 2:1-2 My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, 2 making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;" "Proverbs 3:1-2 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, 2 for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you." #2) Avoid Sexual Immorality "Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. "Proverbs 5:3-6 For the lips of a forbidden woman drip honey, and her speech is smoother than oil, 4 but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. 5 Her feet go down to death; her steps follow the path to Sheol; 6 she does not ponder the path of life; her ways wander, and she does not know it." "Proverbs 6:26-29 for the price of a prostitute is only a loaf of bread, but a married woman hunts down a precious life. 27 Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned? 28 Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched? 29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; none who touches her will go unpunished." #5) Find Delight In Your Wife “Proverbs 5:15-20 Drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well. 16 Should your springs be scattered abroad, streams of water in the streets? 17 Let them be for yourself alone, and not for strangers with you. 18 Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, 19 a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love. 20 Why should you be intoxicated, my son, with a forbidden woman and embrace the bosom of an adulteress?" "1 Corinthians 7:2-3 But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. 3 The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband." Application 1) Christ Forgives The Worst Of Sinners "1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." 2) Secret Habits Will Keep You From Secret Sin "Psalm 119:9-11 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. 10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! 11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. 2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. 3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. 4 The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.  |
